The Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre (BCEC) is located in South Brisbane and occupies most of the block formed by Grey Street, Melbourne Street, Merivale Street, and Glenelg Street. Brisbane City Hall & Brisbane Museum
Brisbane City Hall was built between 1920 and 1930, and now is seen as the heart of Brisbane and has been the backdrop to many cultural, social and civic events. City Hall is the perfect place to explore Brisbane's history with daily guided tours showcasing the Main Auditorium, Father Henry Willis Organ and the iconic clock tower. Another feature of City Hall, the Museum of Brisbane, showcases artworks from the City of Brisbane collection as well as contemporary exhibitions by some of the city's leading artists.
Queensland Art Gallery & Gallery of Modern Art
The Queensland Gallery of Modern Art, known as GOMA, is the largest popular established modern art museum in Australia opened in December 2006. Holding a collection of over 17,000 works of historical, modern and contemporary art from Australia, Asia and the Pacific, GOMA introduces “To engage people with art and artists through memorable and transformative experiences onsite and online” as their mission. They connect people and art through diverse exhibitions and offering various experiences which enrich the state’s cultural life. Except for blockbuster exhibitions, admission to GOMA is free for everyone to enjoy.
Queensland Performing Arts Centre
The Queensland Performing Arts Centre, known as QPAC, is part of the Queensland Cultural Centre and is located on the corner of Melbourne Street and Grey Street in Brisbane's South Bank precinct. Each year, QPAC hosts around 1,000 performances including dance, musicals, theatre, opera, comedy and contemporary and classical music concerts across its four theatres and outdoor spaces.
Queensland Museum
Queensland Museum is a museum of natural history, cultural heritage, science and human achievement that tells the changing story of Queensland. As a part of Brisbane's Cultural Precinct, Queensland Museum is within walking distance of the Queensland Art Gallery, Gallery of Modern Art, Queensland Performing Arts Centre and the State Library of Queensland. The Cultural Precinct sits alongside South Bank, a vibrant mix of parkland, recreational and commercial space on the Brisbane River across from the Central Business District.
City Botanic Gardens
